Privacy Policy
Updated October 15, 2026
Pagegloss (pagegloss.app) is a free tool made by Madman Studio that helps site owners create a WebMCP install code. This policy explains what happens to information when you use Pagegloss, and when visitors open a site that uses the Pagegloss install code.
- There are no accounts and no sign-up.
- What you write stays in your browser.
- We read only the public page you point us at, and we do not keep it.
- We count visits and a few actions with Google Analytics, without your site address or what you write. There is no advertising.
What you write
Your draft (site name, description, links, guides and tool settings) is kept in your browser’s local storage on your device. It is not sent to our servers, except in the two cases below. Clearing your browser data deletes it; use Export to keep a copy.
Loading a site address
When you load a site address, our server requests that site’s public home page once. It picks out the name, description and menu links (and any Pagegloss settings already on the page) and sends them back to your browser. We do not store the address, the page or the result.
Checking an installation
When you check an installation, your browser sends the site address and your current settings to our server. The server requests the site’s public home page once and compares the code it finds with your settings. Nothing is stored.
Technical information
Pagegloss runs on Cloudflare. As with any website, your requests reach Cloudflare’s network together with your IP address, browser user agent and request details. Cloudflare uses them to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse, for example with rate limits, and handles them under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Our own service logs note refused requests by endpoint and error code only, without your IP address.
Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics (through Firebase) to understand how Pagegloss is used. It records page views and a few actions — for example that a draft was started from an address, that loading worked, that the install code was copied, or the result of an installation check — together with general device, browser and approximate location information that Google derives from your request. It never receives your site address or anything you write. Advertising features and Google signals are turned off. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Analytics runs without cookies. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy; you can also block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Cookies and local storage
One cookie, pagegloss.lang, remembers the language you chose, for one year. Outside the regions named above, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to tell visits apart. Local storage keeps your draft and your light or dark theme. We use no advertising cookies.
The install code on your site
When someone opens a page that has the install code, their browser loads the Pagegloss runtime script from cdn.pagegloss.app, which Cloudflare serves; like any file request, that request includes their IP address and user agent. The script reads the settings written into your page and registers read-only tools in the browser. It sends no data to Pagegloss and sets no cookies. AI agents that call the tools receive only what you wrote in the settings. As the site owner, you are responsible for telling your visitors about the services your site uses where the law requires it.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Cloudflare provides our hosting, content delivery and security, and Google provides usage analytics as described above.
Children
Pagegloss is a tool for site owners and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
